Being a councillor

being a councillor

Our democracy is dependant on ordinary people who care about their community coming forward to be local councillors.

You may have specific preconceptions about who a councillor is, where they come from and what they look like, but we want you to know that in the Green Party, we are looking for councillors from all backgrounds and walks of life.

Our local government and decision making will only benefit from having a more diverse group of councillors elected, able to bring different perspectives and experiences to policy making.
